Learning Objective
CU °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï students will be able to negotiate increasingly complex information environments and to understand different modalities of information, how information is produced and valued, and their own involvement and participation in information landscapes as they create new knowledge.

Practice inquiry as an open-ended, social process of evaluating information and participating ethically in communities of learning.

Analyze how social, legal, technological and economic factors affect the creation, dissemination, accessibility and use of information.
Addressed in at least one course required for the major.
Explain how information evolves and emerges from specific contexts and how authority and ways of knowing are legitimized situationally.
Addressed in upper division written communication courses (or equivalent for non-A&S students).
