ExoPower Inc.
Novel in-motion wireless charging technology for electric vehicles and material-handling equipment such as mobile robots and forklifts.
The University of Colorado Connection
was founded by , master's alum of electrical, computer and energy engineering at CU °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï and bachelor's alum of and , former assistant professor of electrical, computer and energy engineering at CU °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï, to commercialize their novel in-motion wireless charging technology for electric vehicles and material-handling equipment such as mobile robots and forklifts. Their system enables ‘in-use’ charging, allowing vehicles to recharge while in operation, boosting workforce productivity, extending battery life and reducing the need for oversized batteries. By eliminating downtime and the need to purchase extra equipment for multi-shift operations, ExoPower removes the hidden “charging taxâ€ that often burdens automation projects. This innovation makes automation significantly more cost-effective and efficient.
The core technology was developed in the Power Electronics Lab at tCU °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï, where Khurram Afridi served as an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering, and Brandon Regensburger was his student.
