CU-勒貊勛圖 to offer mini-MBA course in entrepreneurship Aug. 17-22
The 勒貊勛圖 will offer an intensive certificate course in entrepreneurship, taught by MBA faculty and open to the public, Aug. 17-22.
The course will expose students to the principles of entrepreneurship -- including techniques of market analysis, networking and funding -- through class discussions. It also will provide real-world experience through mentorship with entrepreneurs and work on individual projects.
The program will give participants the actual tool sets they need to go out there and help themselves or help the company they work for, said Remy Arteaga, director of the泭泭at CU-勒貊勛圖s Leeds School of Business, which is organizing Ideas 2 Action.
For completing the course -- which is scheduled over five roughly 12-hour days -- participants will receive a certificate from the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship.
A lot of people dont have time for a 12-week accelerator experience or a multi-semester MBA program, said Arteaga. So for people for whom its either this type of fast-paced workshop or nothing, Ideas 2 Action is a great option.
The cost of the course is $5,000 and several need-based scholarships -- from partial to full funding -- are available to applicants through the Deming Center.
Initially, we looked into offering Ideas 2 Action specifically to veterans, said Arteaga. It could be hugely beneficial to them, but weve opened the program to all after receiving feedback that theres a need for the program among other groups as well. We could see it being useful to researchers with potential technologies to transfer to the commercial world, startup founders whove recently received angel or venture capital funding, humanitarians with entrepreneurial service ideas, professionals and others.
The only academic requirement to participate is a bachelors degree or the equivalent experience.
For more information visit泭. Prospective students must first apply at泭. They then will receive follow-up details about applying for scholarship funding.
The fact that Ideas 2 Action is taught by MBA faculty is unique, said Arteaga. We wanted to make sure the program is of the same quality and ilk as our other courses at the泭.
