The 2026-27 Newman Fellows were announced by Campus Compact, and the °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï’s Yasmin Mohamud is a recipient. The Newman Fellowship celebrates undergraduate students across the country who demonstrate leadership qualities and a devotion to civic responsibility.
Teaching East Asia Through Picture Books receives excellence in civic and community engagement awardMentored by staff from the Program for Teaching East Asia, °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï students develop picture books that focus on a specific region of East Asia. These books are then used as teaching tools in K-12 classrooms across Colorado.
Every year, an undergraduate student who demonstrates exemplary leadership is nominated for Campus Compact’s Newman Civic Fellowship, which supports student leaders who show great potential for tackling human rights and social justice issues.
