Fall Break | Nov. 23 – Nov. 27, 2026

  • All residence halls, including Code Talker and Bear Creek will remain open for fall break. There will be limited dining, transportation and front desk hours.

Winter Break | Dec. 12, 2026 – Jan. 5, 2027

  • Residence halls close at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12. All students without a winter break contract must vacate by that time.
  • Code Talker, Bear Creek, students with an Academic Year + Breaks contract may remain through the break.
  • Students with a winter break contract may remain in their room throughout the break, but should expect reduced campus services.

Spring Break | March 15-19, 2027

  • All residence halls, including Code Talker and Bear Creek will remain open for spring break. There will be limited dining, transportation and front desk hours.

Departure checklistÌý

Before departing for break, please ensure:

  • Windows are closed and locked
  • Window blinds are closed
  • All electrical appliances are unplugged (residence hall students only)
  • Micro-fridges are cleaned and set to low (residence hall students only)
  • All food and perishable items have been removed from the room
  • Trash and recycling is placed in the dumpster outside of the building
  • No items are blocking the heating unit in your room.
  • Personal items, such as laptops and textbooks, are removed from floor
  • Heaters set on low
  • Lights turned off
  • Plants are watered
  • Any items that could violate residence hall policy, such as candles, are removed from the building
  • Room door is closed and locked
  • To help prevent theft, it is recommended that students store personal bikes in their room during breaks, if space is available and it does not block exits

For winter break:

  • If you are a first-year student who is NOT returning for the spring semester, fill out the First-year release petition in theÌýMyCULivingÌý±è´Ç°ù³Ù²¹±ô
  • If you are not returning for the spring semester, fill out the Intent to Vacate form found in the MyCULiving portal.
  • Students without a winter break contract will not be able to access their residence hall during the winter break. Ensure that you have taken all items, such as medications, winter-clothing, and passports with you.
