Make time for your writing this semester! Whether you’re working on a dissertation, thesis, article, proposal or other academic project, these write-ins offer dedicated time to focus, work alongside your peers, stay accountable and track your progress.

A shared understanding of expectations and clear communication are critical to effective mentor-mentee relationships. This CIMER session will allow mentors to reflect upon and identify characteristics of effective communication and take time to practice communication skills with their mentees.

This event is specifically for mentors participating in the Graduate Peer Mentoring Program.ÌýAttendance is not required but highly encouraged.Ìý

Join us for an overview of the peer mentoring program, a crash course on mentoring best practices, a session highlighting essential campus resources, and an opportunity to work through student scenarios, including how to navigate challenging situations that may come up in your mentoring relationship.

This event is specifically for mentors and mentees participating in the Graduate Peer Mentoring Program.

Kick off your peer mentoring connection over coffee! Participants can stop by anytime to connect with their mentor or mentee(s) and enjoy refreshments. Please coordinate a meeting time with your match in advance, and RSVP individually by Friday, Sept. 4.

This seminar series allows you to explore purpose, not simply as something you find, but something you actively build through your experiences and actions. You’ll develop strategies to clarify and strengthen your purpose, align your behaviors with what matters most, cultivate confidence, and invest your time more intentionally.

Through interactive workshops, reflection and practical strategies, you’ll gain tools to manage your time, reduce procrastination, clarify expectations and develop a personalized approach to success.

This interactive seminar, led by Leslie-Ellen Blood, uses behavioral science to help graduate students deepen self-awareness, sharpen focus, reduce procrastination and rethink what success looks like. Through practical application, reflection and discussion, you’ll develop research-backed strategies to leverage your values, experiences and identity to support your growth as a scholar.Ìý

Effective mentoring means knowing when a mentee truly understands their work and knowing when to step back and foster independence. This combined CIMER session will help mentors develop strategies to assess mentees’ understanding, address areas of confusion, define what independence looks like, and support mentees in becoming more confident and self-directed researchers.
