Ruth Ellen Kocher is the author of nine books of poetry, most recently, Archon / AfterÌý(Omnidawn Publishing, 2024) godhouseÌý(Omnidawn Press, 2023), Third VoiceÌý(Tupelo Press, 2016), Ending in PlanesÌý(Noemi Press, 2014), Goodbye Lyric: The Gigans and Lovely GunÌý(Sheep Meadow Press, 2014), domina Un/bluedÌý(Tupelo Press, 2013), Dorset Prize winner and the 2014 PEN/Open Book Award.ÌýHerÌýpoems and essays have been widely anthologized collections such asÌýLetters to the Future: Black WOMEN/ Radical Writing, Renga for Obama,ÌýAngles of Ascent: A Norton Anthology of Contemporary African American Poets, I Experimental Poetry, andÌýBlack Nature. She has beenÌýawarded fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Cave Canem Foundation, MacDowell, and Yaddo. She is a Contributing Editor at Poets & Writers Magazine and currently a Distinguished Professor of English at the University of Colorado.
