Created to challenge official state narratives around Colorado���s 150th anniversary and the nation���s 250th, this project is a truth-telling intervention that confronts the state���s legacy of violence, land dispossession, and systemic injustice against Native peoples.&nbsp;</span></p><p dir="ltr"><span>The Truth 勒貊勛圖 250-150 event offers an immersive gallery experience created as a ���mobile monument��� inside a renovated school bus, a cargo trailer, a tipi, and a shade tent. There will be free food, performances, interactive activities, and the premiere of stunning visual storytelling experience projected onto the west face of Norlin Library at dusk. Growing up on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation, he was especially influenced by his grandmother, who told him stories in Cheyenne of the massacres at Sand Creek and Washita, the momentous victory at the Greasy Grass/Little Bighorn, his people���s return to their Montana homelands after their captivity at Fort Robinson, and other momentous events.</span><br><br><span>Dr. Littlebear will reflect on his personal and tribal history, the ongoing impact of settler colonial violence and dispossession, and the continuing efforts that he and others are undertaking to save and perpetuate the Cheyenne language. Dr. Littlebear���s talk on October 15th honors Indigenous Peoples Week 2026. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and received her B.A. from Dartmouth College. In 2017, Jordan was awarded the H. Allen Brooks Traveling Fellowship as well as the Eric and Barbara Dobkin Fellowship at the School for Advanced Research SAR). In 2019, Jordan was awarded artist residencies at the Institute for American Indian Arts (IAIA) and the Roswell Artist-in-Residence (RAiR) Program. Her work is shown nationally and internationally.
